Puerto Pirámides Tours and Activities | Top Things To Do

Nestled along the rugged coastline of the Valdés Peninsula, Puerto Pirámides is a charming village famed for its incredible marine wildlife and breathtaking natural beauty. With its tranquil beaches, clear waters, and stunning cliffs, this small seaside town is the ideal base for exploring one of Argentina's most remarkable ecological wonders.

A glimpse into the past

Founded in the early 20th century as a salt mining settlement, Puerto Pirámides eventually transformed into the only town within the peninsula, thanks to its proximity to wildlife hotspots and the growing interest in eco-tourism. Today, it welcomes nature lovers from all over the world eager to experience unforgettable encounters with whales, sea lions, and penguins.

Best time to visit

The highlight of the year is whale watching season, from June to December, when southern right whales migrate here to breed and raise their calves. Spring and early summer are also ideal for spotting diverse wildlife and enjoying pleasant weather.

Is whale watching guaranteed?

While it’s impossible to guarantee sightings, the odds of seeing whales in season are very high. Tours operate daily, with guides using their expertise to give you the best possible experience.

What should I bring on a tour?

We recommend comfortable clothing, sun protection, a windbreaker, and your camera to capture unforgettable moments with the local wildlife.
